The XT66 is a very nimble and relatively quite. Powered by a 44HP Kubota turbo- diesel engine and utilizing a 16? over-the-tire (OTT) rubber track system, this is a mean machine. The XT66 can seat up to six adults and allow access into areas that conventional ATVs or recreational amphibious vehicles only wish to go. Like the other Hydratrek vehicles, hydrostatic wheel motors supply the large amount of torque for pulling and climbing with big loads.
The primary justifications for the XT66 have been search and rescue, flood mitigation and support, wetland survey and inspection, and recreational activities. Many sheriff and fire departments have become believers of the Hydratrek product during the 2010 and 2011 flood seasons that devastated many areas of the US. They were able to move families through floodwaters to safety, evacuate and inspect buildings, and provide sandbagging support.
One of the top sellers, the XT66 Hydratrek is small enough to get you into tight places, yet big enough to earn your respect as an amphibious ATV. The two 11" bronze propellers enable the vehicle to move through the water at 4.0 MPH with a full load.
