How does brackish or salt water effect the unit?
The aluminum superstructure of your Hydratrek will give many years of service if properly maintained. It is important to wash with fresh water and clean down with a mild detergent after every use. This is extremely important if the unit has been exposed to salt or brackish water.

How long will the unit run on a gallon or tank of fuel?
Under normal operations the 10.5 gallon fuel tank should provide approximately 10 hr of run time.

Will it sink if swamped?
The HYDRATREK perimeter pontoon areas and undercarriage are closed cell foam filled. The unit will still float if swamped.

What is the steepest angle of climb at loaded capacity?
This varies according to model and set up. We have pulled a 7,000lb. Skid steer loaded on a 16’ trailer up a 22 degree incline. Also, we have hauled 4 men up and down a 33 degree incline. Please see the owner’s manual for the specific unit.

What is the maximum safe horizontal angle of travel?
This varies according to model and set up. The steepest horizontal testing we have performed is on a 36 degree slope. Please see the Owner’s manual for the specific unit.

What is the top speed on dry land?
Depending on the setup and options, the top land speed at current is 15 MPH.

What is the highest speed in water?
Depending on the setup or options, the top water speed at current is 4 to 5 knots.

How lager of waves or swell can it handle?
The HYDRATREK has handled rollers up to 2 ˝ ft without swamping under proper navigation.

In how much current can it make headway and maintain control?
Depending on the options and setup of the unit, some have made headway against class 2 current. Maneuverability is surprisingly good. See the “Hydratrek in the Mississippi River” footage on Youtube.com

What type of hydraulic fluid does it use?
The HYDRATREK requires Mobil SHC 525 synthetic hydraulic fluid.

Does it have a cold weather start system?
Yes. We can add a block and oil heater, thermal battery blanket, and adjust the air intake system to handle extreme cold.

How does it operate in loose sand?
With the track system, the units work well.

How does it have to be registered?
This depends on specific state regulations and requirements, but for most it can be registered as both an ATV and a boat.

How deep of water does it take to float it?
Depending on the model, most units begin floating in 26” of water.

Can the rear seat be totally removed in order to have more storage?
Yes, it can. This opens a space that is approximately 50x30x30

How much weight will the luggage rack on hood carry?
Approximately 150 lbs.
